Lauren Chu is the Founder and Designer at Studio Chu. Her beginnings as an interior designer can be traced back to childhood. She grew up around furniture, learning the ropes of the business from her grandfather. He schooled her on quality construction and finishes. Let's just say she knew how to buy a great sofa from age 5. Around 12, she borrowed her dad's tape measure, came up with a new floor plan for her teenage bedroom, picked the perfect purple paint, and bedding to match. Needless to say, when it came time to decide what to major in at college, design felt like a natural calling.
After graduating from University of Georgia with a degree in Interior Design, Lauren headed to Atlanta where she worked for a luxury custom furniture company in design and production. Following that, she worked on custom kitchen and bath projects in $1M+ homes in the Buckhead, Vinings, and West Paces neighborhoods of Atlanta.
After moving to San Francisco, Lauren launched Studio Chu and she's been designing ever since.
With ten years experience in design, both to-the-trade and residential, what she loves most is helping people create homes that are not only aesthetically appealing, but that are functional. Lauren believes that great design is a space you can really live in. It tells the story of you.
